Privacy policy — Who Said
Last updated: September 30, 2026
1. Who we are
Who Said is published by MadAkt, the studio of Adam Goncalves, sole proprietor registered in France (SIRET 834 372 302 00028). For any question: contact@madakt.com.
2. Data collected
Who Said is played locally, on a single device. Names and answers entered during a game are stored only on your phone and deleted at the end of the game. They are never sent to MadAkt or to any third party.
The app requires no account, no email address and no location data.
3. Advertising (Google AdMob)
Who Said is free and funded by advertising, unless you buy the PRO version (see section 4). Ads are served by Google AdMob, a service of Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). To show these ads, the Google SDK built into the app automatically collects:
- your Android device's advertising ID;
- your IP address, used to estimate an approximate location (country, city);
- technical information about the device: model, Android version, language, carrier;
- your interactions with ads (impressions, clicks) and diagnostic data.
This data is used to show ads, measure their performance, cap how often they repeat, prevent fraud and, only if you consent, personalise ads based on your interests.
This data is processed by Google and its advertising partners, not by MadAkt. MadAkt only receives aggregated statistics (number of ads shown, revenue). Learn more: how Google uses information from apps that use its services and Google's privacy policy.
4. In-app purchases (Who Said PRO)
Who Said offers an optional one-time purchase, "Who Said PRO", which removes ads. Payment is handled entirely by Google Play: MadAkt never has access to your payment details, name or email address.
To verify and restore this purchase, the app uses RevenueCat, a service of RevenueCat, Inc. (United States), acting as MadAkt's processor. The RevenueCat SDK receives:
- an anonymous identifier generated by the app (no account is created);
- your in-app purchase history (product, date, price, currency, Google Play purchase token);
- technical information about the device: model, Android and app version, language, Play Store country, IP address.
This data is used only to unlock and restore the PRO version, prevent fraud and produce sales statistics. It is not used for advertising. MadAkt can view the purchase history linked to the anonymous identifier in the RevenueCat dashboard. Learn more: RevenueCat's privacy policy.
Legal basis: performance of the purchase contract.
5. Your consent
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, a consent form appears the first time you open the app. It is run by Google's consent management platform, certified under the IAB TCF. You can accept, refuse or choose purpose by purpose. If you refuse, the app remains fully usable; ads shown are then non-personalised, or none are shown.
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time with the "Privacy" button at the top of the app's home screen. You can also reset or delete your device's advertising ID in Android settings (Privacy > Ads).
Legal basis: your consent for ad personalisation and for accessing information on your device for that purpose; MadAkt's legitimate interest in funding the app for non-personalised ads, ad measurement and fraud prevention.
6. Transfers and retention
Google and RevenueCat may process this data outside the European Union, including in the United States. These transfers are covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and/or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. Advertising data is kept for the periods set by Google in its privacy policy; MadAkt keeps none of it. Purchase data is kept by RevenueCat as long as needed to restore the purchase, or until you ask for it to be deleted.
7. Data handled by Google Play
Downloads, payment for the PRO purchase and any crash reports are handled by Google under its own privacy rules. MadAkt may view aggregated, anonymous statistics in the Google Play Console.
8. Permissions
The app uses internet and network state access to load ads and verify purchases, the Google Play billing permission (BILLING) for the PRO purchase, and the advertising ID permission (AD_ID). It does not request location, contacts, camera or microphone.
9. Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, delete, object to and restrict the processing of your data, and to withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting processing already carried out. Names and answers stay on your phone: uninstalling the app deletes them. For advertising data, use the app's "Privacy" button or contact Google. To have your purchase data deleted, email us with the identifier shown in the app's purchase management screen; you can then restore PRO from Google Play. For any request: contact@madakt.com. You may also contact the French data protection authority, the CNIL (cnil.fr).
10. Changes
This policy may change along with the app. The date at the top of the page shows the version in force.
